Costco Hepatitis A Berries- What To Do

I’m sure by now many of you have heard about the outbreak of Hepatitis A linked to Costco’s Townsend Farms Organic Antioxidant Blend Frozen Berries. I find it both sad and convenient for two different reasons. Sad of course because so many people who are trying to eat healthier and spend extra to specifically purchase the organic mixed berries bag instead of the regular ones, are now disheartened. And convenient because this incidence not only makes organic foods look unsafe, but it was the perfect reason to push the Hepatitis A Vaccine at everyone and their mother, and conveniently for free of course!

I know we all have different opinions on vaccines, and I save my thoughts for those who really want to hear them. Today, I want to share with you my recommendations for what to do if you have eaten some of these berries and potentially been exposed to the Hep A virus.

1. DON’T FREAK OUT

  • Let’s face the reality that what’s done is done. Stressing out about what happened is not going to help anything, but actually decrease your immune system instead, so be calm and by integrating the recommendations below know that you are empowering your body to overcome just about any virus, not just Hep A! How cool is that!

2. Cut out the immune system offenders

  • You have a machine inside of you that is the MOST powerful tool against viruses, cancers, diseases, pain, etc…it’s your IMMUNE SYSTEM. When we fall prey to one of these “bad guys” it’s usually because our immune system isn’t working properly and has become too burdened by toxins. Here are some of the top Immune System Offenders…
    • SUGAR- Read labels!
    • GLUTEN- Damages the gut (where 80% of the immune system is), turns into sugar right after you eat it, and encourages inflammation.
    • “DIRTY” DAIRY- regular pasteurized dairy is FULL of nasty things you don’t even want to know about, so just trust me on this one! It increases mucous formation in the gut and is inflammatory in the body.
    • GMO Foods- (Genetically Modified Organisms)  My brotha/sista, if you don’t know about this, you need to start reading! These dangerous franken-foods have the ability to splice your DNA, give you cancers, grow tumors, and make you sterile for life! NOTHING to mess around with!
    • TOXIC CHEMICALS ON YOUR SKIN!- These go directly into the blood stream, so PLEASE be careful what you put on your skin and switch over to non-toxic alternatives

3. SUNRIDER FOODS

  •  If you haven’t read the testimony I recently posted about a man who was able to completely get rid of his Hepatitis-C & liver failure, PLEASE READ IT HERE!
  • As you have heard me say before, the Sunrider Foods are THE MOST amazing tools I have EVER food to heal our bodies. Since Hepatitis can affect the liver, consuming 1-pitcher of Calli tea daily will be very helpful to cleanse this virus from the body. Quinary will support the 5-major systems: digestive, endocrine (hormonal), respiratory, circulatory, & immune- simultaneously ensuring you are functioning in tip-top shape. NuPlus will give your body the energy it needs to make the necessary improvements. And 1 more special tool you may want to add is called Alpha-20-C. This is the “immune system” component of Quinary and is formulated specifically to increase your defenses against outside invaders. I have heard UNREAL stories about terminal cancer patients, and very ill people taking high levels of this and becoming completely healed. This is NO JOKE yo!

4. Increase your probiotic foods & beverages

  • 80% of the immune system is in the gut, remember? Healing your gut is IMPERATIVE to have a killer immune system and optimal health. Probiotic foods & drinks such as raw cultured sauerkraut (with culture like Body Ecology) and Inner Eco or Body Ecology’s Cocobiotics are phenomenal to heal the body and raise your body’s defenses.

5. Get in the sun

  • Don’t be afraid of the sun, the sun is your friend and like a machine gun against invaders in the body. Try to get in the sun for atleast 20 minutes per day with a good amount of your body exposed and NO sunscreen. After those 20 minutes, you can put on a 30 SPF  NON-TOXIC sunscreen to prevent burning, because we don’t want that either. 🙂

6. Get plenty of rest & hydrate

  • And as usual, make sure you’re sleeping well and staying hydrated with pure mineral rich water. You should be drinking half of your body weight in ounces of water, so…if you weigh 150lbs, you should be drinking 75oz of water per day. That is NO 8-8oz cups is it? 🙂 Dehydration is a massive stressor on the body, so pay attention to that. 🙂 And try to get at least 7 hours of good sleep each night if you can.

7. Homeopathic Hepatitis A Nosode

  • This is something you may have never heard of before, but in homeopathic medicine (the most effective, non-toxic medicine on the planet!), you can get what is called a nosode of a particular virus or illness. The Nosode works as all homeopathic remedies do to help your body get rid of the condition. If you are diagnosed with Hep A or are very concerned you may get it, you can look into this option as well. http://www.elixirs.com/products.cfm?productcode=S97F

Flu-Shot Alternatives- 11 Immune Boosting Tips

After yesterday’s article exposing some of the dangerous FACTS about the Flu-Shot, I wanted to follow up with ways you can keep you and your family strong so you don’t become vulnerable to the flu, and if you do get it, you will know how to get rid of it quick!

I know when I bring up the topic of vaccines, I am opening myself up to a world of insults, hate emails, and pro-vaccine protesters. Being that I am an RN, I get a lot of ridicule for my stance on this controversial topic. It doesn’t phase me because I am not called to “fit in”, in this world. I am called to speak the truth in love. It is never my intention to ever belittle anyone and their opinion. We may disagree and that’s fine. It’s your decision, however I don’t understand how some of these black and white facts  about the high risks and dangers of vaccines are overlooked. Maybe people truly just don’t know…. We have come to trust the governing powers in our country SO much with our health, and it doesn’t really make sense. Do you trust them with your money?? Most people would answer an obnoxious “no” to that question! So…WHY in the world would you trust them with your health??

For those of you who are more interested in strengthening the most POWERFUL tool against any disease, flu, virus, or illness, I wanted to put together some of my favorite ways to strengthen your immune system to fight off anything that may come your way. Just like cancer can only grow and survive in a specific environment, viruses and bacteria are the same. You have to be a HOST to these little suckers in order for them to take hold. Here are some ways to bullet-proof your body from illness…

-Top 11 Immune Boosting Tips-

1. Remove foods that burden the immune system.

  • The major culprits are gluten, dairy, sugar, & processed foods. Removing these foods from your diet will do WONDERS in your health! If your body is constantly burdened with these damaging foods, you can be left vulnerable to illnesses you are exposed to. Read more here…

2. Increase your Sunrider foods & superfoods.

  • I can honestly say I don’t remember the last time I was sick and that is in large part due to the fact that I eat my Sunrider foods and some of my favorite superfoods on a consistent basis to make sure my body is getting incredible nutrient density!

3. Consume probiotic foods & beverages daily and increase when sick.

  • 80% of your immune system is in your digestive tract. Did you know that? That means that when you load up on probiotics, which are like little good-guy fighters that go in and clean house in your digestive system, you are dramatically improving your immune system! This is why when you take a round of antibiotics (which I don’t recommend unless life threatening), you are very likely to get sick afterwards because all of your good-guy fighters in your digestive system have just been killed. Downing probiotic foods and beverages or a good probiotic supplement will make a huge difference in your healing process and in preventing the common flu or cold. Here are my favorite sources for probiotics…

4. Drink half of your body weight in ounces of pure mineralized, alkaline, water every day.

  • This means, if you weigh 160 pounds, each day you should be drinking 80 oz of water.
  • Try to get as high-quality water as possible. In my health programs, we go over this in detail over an entire week! There are many options out there to get you hydrated! You can start by going to www.findaspring.com and looking for a natural spring near you!

5.Eat more garlic & onions

  • These foods are rich in antioxidants and selenium, both which help boost immune function. Garlic in particular is both antibacterial and antiviral. Both garlic and onions are part of the Allium family, which is rich in sulfur-containing compounds responsible for many of their health-promoting effects. The more of these foods you get in, the stronger you’re immune system will be!

6. Use Immune boosting supplements- Vitamin C & D3

  • I’m not usually a supplement pusher, but these to supplement superstars can do you a whole world of good when you choose the right ones! If you have been an Emergen-C or Airborne fan, I would recommend throwing those in the trash as they are loaded with JUNK and replace them with the good stuff! Here are my favorite sources for these two immune-boosting vitamins:

7. Move your body every day.

  • Physical activity helps to cleanse your body of impurities and stimulates the white blood cell production and Killer T cells which are responsible for killing the bad-guy invaders such as viruses and bacteria! If you’re sick, you don’t want to stress your body too much, but even a simple stretching routine would do wonders! Doing a simple spinal twist can increase white blood cell production and boost immune function. One of the most effective lymphatic cleansing and immune boosting exercises is rebounding! Get a mini-trampoline and bounce off the bad bugs!

8. Get more sleep.

  • Night time when we sleep is when our body rejuvenates itself and where most healing takes place. It is important to at the very minimum get 7 hours of sleep per night. Your body will require more when you are fighting off a bug. Listen to your body and rest when your body tells you to. Make sure your room is pitch dark to ensure proper melatonin production. Melatonin is a hormone that helps you sleep. It is crucial that you sleep through all of your sleep cycles. The different phases of sleep contain two cycles that are deep enough to refurbish your immune system. The better you sleep, the better you’ll feel!

9. Stress Less.

  • Many consider stress as one of the main culprits for a compromised or faulty immune system. I always say, no matter how much broccoli and quinoa you eat, if you are a stress case, your health is going to deteriorate. It is incredibly important to learn how to manage stress in your life, change your perspectives, laugh more, lighten up, and love life. Your immune system and entire body will thank you for this!

10. Use homeopathic medicine to treat symptoms.

  • We all catch a bug from time to time. This is actually an opportunity for our immune systems to be strengthened if dealt with properly! When your find yourself with a runny nose, stomach ache, or any other ailment, I HIGHLY recommend using homeopathic medicine to get better quick! Homeopathic medicine is the safest most effective non-toxic medicine on the planet with an unbelievable track record for saving lives! When you’re in a pinch and don’t know what to get, go for a combo remedy that fits your symptoms. This will be found in any health food store in the supplements section.

11. Increase your greens & alkaline foods in any & every way possible.

  • Drink more green smoothies, eat more spinach, kale, celery, bell peppers (incredibly high in vitamin C!), cucumbers, avocados, etc. Make bone broths with greens and high mineral-content organic bones! That is a true miracle worker. Maybe even try my anti-cancer soup recipe! Another GREAT trick to get your body more alkaline is to drink lemon water each morning! Read my previous article here to learn more information about this super simple and powerful drink!

Feel Good Friday- Top 11 Reasons to Go Outside!

Welcome back to FEEL GOOD FRIDAY!

Do you ever feel like you’re just in a funk? I know I have those days. Those days where you can’t find motivation, you feel kinda down, like you’re under a cloud and you just don’t know how to get out of it…Well, today’s tip really can bring you some extra “umph”!

Research has proven that going outside can have many mental & physiological benefits! Here are some of those benefits:

1. Vitamin D

Vitamin D comes from the sun, and works miracles in the body! Vitamin D is not actually a vitamin, but a hormone. It is responsible for boosting the immune system, fighting against cancer cells, regulating hormones, and keeping you in tip top shape. Vitamin D has even been referred to as “The Happiness Hormone”. All you need to do is go outside and let your body soak up the sun’s gift of Vitamin D. If it’s winter time and you have absolutely zero sun, you can refer to Dr. Mercola’s tanning bed guide to find a safe one near you. If you are deficient in this essential hormone, you have an increased risk for many illnesses and depression. Read more here…

2. Enhances Focus & Concentration

Sometimes we get so wrapped up into what we are doing in the office that we lose focus and concentration. Stepping outside for some fresh air to take a walk and get our mind on something else can really improve your focus and concentration when you return to work. Next time your brain stops working, go take a breather outside for a few minutes. 🙂

3. Stress Reduction

Research has shown that there is something very powerful that happens when we are outside in nature. Everyone’s environment is different. Maybe you live in a big city and the closest thing you have is a city park, or maybe you live in the mountains, where the forest is your backyard. Either way, use your resources to connect with nature. This has proven to decrease stress & tension in the body, no matter where you are. With how stressful life can be sometimes, this is a KEY tool to use whenever you need it. Step out of the office, get out of the house, spend some time with just yourself and the beautiful scenery around you. Even if it’s raining, put on a jacket, rain boots, and an umbrella and go take a walk in the rain, breathing in the fresh, clean air!

4. Get Grounded

What does it mean to “get grounded”? You may have heard of this technique as “earthing” as well. Some people get more into the “hippie” language than I like to, but the important part is that you know the incredible benefits of getting grounded! All it is really is putting a piece of your body in contact with anything in nature- a tree, the ground, a plant, etc. The best thing to do would be to get barefoot on the ground- not cement, but the grass or dirt. Why is this so important? Because in our society, no matter where we are in a building we are surrounded by EMF’s- ElectroMagnetic Frequencies. These come from all of the electronic devices we have around us- cell phones, house phones, WiFi, Laptops, radios, TV, etc. If you live in an apartment like I do, you are not only exposed to your own devices but EVERYONE’s around you… Electromagnetic Radiation goes through everything! This is very unnatural and very dangerous if you don’t know how to keep your body protected.

Each time you touch a tree or the ground, or anything connected to the ground, all of the radiation goes straight from you and is released into the ground. What happens when you don’t do this? Most of the time we wear shoes with a rubber sole. This means, the frequencies are basically bounced around in our body creating chaos. This can make you feel more stressed than usual, scattered, it has been linked to insomnia, tumors, infertility, etc. The risk is very much real and the most dangerous part about it is that you can’t see it.I personally use EMF protecting devices on all our cell phones, laptops, and WiFi router. You can learn more here- www.GIAWellness.com/jlopez I also have a grounding mat that I love! They are available at www.longevitywarehouse.com

So, try to get outside today and get in touch with nature and get rid of this added stress that you definitely don’t need!

5. Stimulate the Balance & Happiness Parts of your brain

Just looking at a natural scene activates parts of the brain associated with balance and happiness. In a study at South Korea’s Chonnam National University, fMRI scans showed that when subjects saw images of mountains, forests, and other landscapes, they experienced heightened activity in the anterior cingulate gyrus (which is linked to positive outlook and emotional stability) and the basal ganglia (an area that’s been tied to the recollection of happy memories). (Source)

6. Stimulate your senses

When you’re stuck inside a building all day, you are usually staring at a computer screen or indoors doing a repetitive task- of course depending on what your occupation is. When you go outdoors, your eyes are strengthened and SEE different colors, distances, and shapes, your skin FEELS the cool air, breeze, and sunlight, your nose SMELLS the fresh air and the different smells of restaurants and buildings, your ears HEAR birds chirping, cars buzzing, and people talking, and maybe even your mouth TASTES a cup of warm tea or fresh juice if you stop by your favorite outdoor cafe. 🙂 Your body feels alive and happy as you stimulate all of your senses outside.

7. Increase oxygenation

What would happen if you stop breathing? Obviously, we would stop living. Oxygen is critical to our health and survival. Going outdoors and breathing the fresh air increases our oxygen consumption, therefore improving our health. Air quality indoors can be very poor, and in some buildings even dangerous. Breathing in the fresh cool air is one of the best things you can do on a daily basis. Oxygen has been proven to kill cancer & diseased cells, which is what we all want, so go outside today and take an extra deep breath of fresh air and get that oxygen moving all over your body!

8. Stimulate your Immune System

Going outside has various benefits for the immune system- moving increases peristalsis in the digestive system where 80% of your immune system is, increasing oxygen has been shown to fight cancer cells, reducing stress causes reduced cortisol levels, which lets your body do it’s job and fight off pathogenic invaders, and Vitamin D is proven to increase the immune system and kick the crap out of dangerous carcinogens. What’s not to love?

Researchers at Tokyo’s Nippon Medical School have quantifiable evidence: In one study, women who spent two to four hours in the woods on two consecutive days experienced a nearly 50 percent increase in the activity of cancer-fighting white blood cells. (Source)

9. Increased Energy

If you’re dragging and feeling low energy levels, research has shown that just going outside for a quick walk can boost your energy levels more than a cup of coffee! Being outdoors stimulates your brain and puts an extra pep in your step. So, next time instead of heading over to the coffee cart or vending machine to get a dangerous energy drink, go for a walk and breathe in some fresh air!

10. Fights against Depression

As you have read above, being outdoors has tremendous effects on the body, and each of the above reasons plays a role in fighting against depression. If you find yourself in a place of feeling depressed, spend as much time outdoors as you can. Maybe try gardening, sit in the sand, go for a swim, go hiking or camping, and watch your mind & body begin to change. 🙂

Norwegian researchers discovered that subjects with moderate-severe depression who participated in a horticultural program experienced reduced symptoms after 12 weeks. “Humans are innately engaged in nature,” says study author Marianne Thorsen Gonzalez, PhD, making gardening an ideal distraction from the rumination that fuels depression. (Source)

They sound like science fiction, but negative ions—particles that are plentiful near waterfalls, breaking waves, and river rapids—can act as natural antidepressants, according to Columbia University researchers. And an Indoor Air study found that after breathing negative ions for an hour, subjects’ blood lactate levels dropped 33 percent, improving their energy levels. (Source)

11. Easier Exercise

I can attest to this proven fact, that exercise is perceived easier outside. For me, running 10 minutes on a treadmill indoors feels like an eternity, but 10 minutes outside is more like an adventure and passes incredible quickly. I can easily go jogging for 30-45 minutes and feel great outdoors, but indoors, I’m lucky to last 10-15 minutes. It is also better for you, because when you exercise outdoors, you are also reaping all of the above benefits simultaneously!

So, today’s challenge is to get outside more and enjoy your scenery. Are you up for it? 🙂 Let us know how your journey’s outside go today by leaving us a comment below!

Have a beautiful day everyone!

xoxo,

“By entering through faith into what God has always wanted to do for us—set us right with him, make us fit for him—we have it all together with God because of our Master Jesus. And that’s not all: We throw open our doors to God and discover at the same moment that he has already thrown open his door to us. We find ourselves standing where we always hoped we might stand—out in the wide open spaces of God’s grace and glory, standing tall and shouting our praise.

There’s more to come: We continue to shout our praise even when we’re hemmed in with troubles, because we know how troubles can develop passionate patience in us, and how that patience in turn forges the tempered steel of virtue, keeping us alert for whatever God will do next. In alert expectancy such as this, we’re never left feeling shortchanged. Quite the contrary—we can’t round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit!”

~ Romans 5:1-5 (The Message)
