Since I became a mama 2 years ago, and even more so since I become I mother of 2, 4-months ago, I have become very passionate about helping other moms invest in themselves. It’s so easy to take the martyr role and tell ourselves, “This is what I signed up for, my kids need to always come first no matter what the cost”. We find some sort of twisted satisfaction of being run ragged all the time. Why do we do that? Sometimes we’re weirdos, us mothers…it could be the delusional state we’re in from not sleeping through the night…ever. 🙂

SO…that’s where I come in. Most of you know I’m a Registered Nurse. I paid over $100k (ya I know…) and went to school for 4 years to get that RN after my name. I did it because I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. I wanted to be there for them when life got rough, I wanted to help them heal, grieve, prevent illness, treat illness and injury, that was my driving force. Since I graduated in 2009, my perspective and knowledge in the area of health has drastically shifted. Now…I want to be the nurse for other nurses who are killing themselves due to stress and poor lifestyle choices. I want to be the nurse for moms, busy entreprenuers, and individuals who are walking down a dangerous path to significant health problems. Our 2018 Kick Ass Programs

If you’ve been following my posts for the past few weeks on Social Media, you’ve been noticing a buzz about the new programs we’re launching and kicking off as a team starting January 1st! My inbox is FULL of inquiries about these programs, the details, pricing, etc, so I thought I’d breakdown all the details for you here! For those of you wanting to FEEL, look, BE amazing…Look no further. You have found the answer and I am SO excited to be able to offer it to you guys!

There are TWO test groups we will be running to CRUSH the first 101 days of 2018:

JANUARY 1-21: THE ULTIMATE RESET

THE ULTIMATE REST

Nutrition: It is broken down into 3 phases. Each week the menu changes. The meals, shopping lists, and recipes are all broken down for you. You are told exactly what to eat throughout the program. There is a “crunch guide” to make meals easier and interchangeable within the phases if there are any foods on the program that you do not like. This is not a starvation cleanse. There are real meals with real foods for the entire 21 days.

Exercise: Rigorous exercise is not recommended through this program. No exercise is required, however there is a 21-Day Ultimate Reset yoga routine that accompanies the program and aids with cleansing, detoxification, energy, and reducing stress levels.

In a Nutshell: This program is BRAND NEW! It is a 13-Week (80-Day) challenge aimed at shaping your arms, abs, & a$$!

Nutrition: The nutritional guide for this program utilizes science based timed nutrition. It is customized for each individual’s starting point & goals and broken down into simple steps for how to get you your best results inside & out.

Exercise: For the first time EVER, this ENTIRE program will be unique workouts for each day. You will never repeat a workout! There are 80 separate workouts to get you through the entire program. What The “Burrito Baby” Phase of Pregnancy Is Teaching Me

Hey guys!

It’s time for an honest moment here that I’m not too proud of. The end of the first trimester/beginning of the second trimester of pregnancy is ROUGH on the confidence, especially when it comes to finding clothes that fit. This is what I refer to as the “burrito baby” phase of pregnancy. You’re not showing enough to tell your pregnant, but your belly has grown enough so that none of your clothes fit right and it looks like you swallowed a ginormous burrito whole and it’s just laying there horizontally in your belly.

I can’t even begin to explain to you the mental tug-o-war that has been happening for me during this time of our pregnancy. On one hand, I am SO INCREDIBLY THANKFUL that our baby boy is growing, that he’s healthy, and that he’s ALIVE! After losing our last baby, you would think this is where ALL my focus and mindset would be. But, I fall prey to self-conscious thoughts like anyone else. I lose my positive mindset and become my own worst critic. I get frustrated that even my yoga pants are tight, that my tops don’t fit right. I look bigger than I am in really loose clothes and I just look chubby in form fitting ones. The struggle is real…

My gracious husband is patient with my craziness everyday, he always tells me I’m beautiful, and is the one who proposed the idea to me of sharing this on my blog. He had a great point. This isn’t my first rodeo. I know I’ll gain healthy baby weight, I know it’s something to celebrate because that means baby is14107731_929688749774_1334724430284143122_o growing, I know what it’s like after delivery, and this time I know EXACTLY what to do in order to whip this postpartum bod into shape! Let me also clarify that a woman’s body is freaking bad ass! The fact that we can literally grow a human from the size of a microscopic egg to a 7 pound healthy human inside our bellies… that we grow our own disposable baby sustaining organ called the placenta, push them both out of our bodies, and then are able to sustain our new precious tiny human life with milk from our own body’s is INSANE! It’s important for ALL of us (I’m speaking to myself here) to be gracious and patient with our bodies through this entire process.

As you guys know, my MISSION and PASSION in this life is to help others learn how to live at 100%, to give this life all they’ve got, and to feel their absolute BEST. I also know that if I am not living at my best, I won’t be able to be there 100% for my growing family. More than external looks, THIS is where my motivation lies. I want to feel good in my clothes. I want to feel CONFIDENT in a bathing suit and not embarrassed. I want to be the strongest happiest version of myself because my husband deserves that in his wife and my boys deserve that in their mama. I know if I “let myself go”, if I don’t invest in getting me healthy, strong, balanced, fulfilled, they will get the empty, drained, sad, low self esteem, low functioning version of a wife/mama. I WILL NOT let that happen.

They eat fast food from Taco Bell or McDonalds every day because they “don’t have time” to eat anything else. They don’t sleep, they are barely functioning only because of a never ending supply of energy drinks and mocha coffee drinks. They don’t take any time to breathe, to dream, to play, to be present. Physically they’re there, but mentally and emotionally eventually they check out. They feel unfulfilled, bitter, even resentful at times. They have super low self esteem that always negatively impacts their marriage and many times divides the family. We all see this all the time. Maybe you’re living this. Please know, I am NOT judging you in any way. I see you, I hear you, and I’m here to tell you that there’s a different way. It doesn’t have to continue like this. You can be that strong, confident, healthy, happy individual you’ve always wanted to be! But you can’t just wish for it. You have to be willing to put in the work.

I need to work on my positive mindset in regards to my own body image. I own that. It’s MY choice every day I look in the mirror with a frown and sigh instead of a smile with excitement. It’s MY choice every time I get mad at my body instead of appreciate that it’s growing my beautiful baby boy. MY choice. MY responsibility. If I continue to have this mindset that ruins the day, ruins my relationships, and sets a bad example for everyone around me, everyone watching me…that’s ALL on me. Just like your lifestyle choices are on you. Your responsibility. You choose the example you are to those around you. Heavy, huh? See why my motivation is so strong now to live my best and help others do the same? Think how drastic of a difference we could make in this world if we all took ownership of our own actions!

I’m the black sheep- Going against the grain

If you couldn’t tell…I absolutely, 100% LOVE what I do as a health coach. Truly, I know I was put on the planet to help other people feel their best. While I may KNOW that now, I haven’t always felt like it was a calling worthy of me pursuing. As you know, we live in a pretty negative society. The messages we constantly here are ones like…

  • You’re never good enough…
  • You’re never pretty, skinny, happy, energetic, productive enough…
  • You have to suffer to get anything good to happen…
  • You have to manipulate in order to get what you want…
  • You’re ridiculous & radical if you go against the grain and do things different than everyone else…
  • You’ll fail.

Does ANYONE out there feel this way? Can I get an amen?!?! 🙂

It’s so sad that this is the environment we live in. THIS is why so many never reach their fullest potential. THIS is why a staggering 80% of Americans don’t feel fulfilled in their jobs and wish they could do something else. Imagine with me for a minute, a world in which EVERYONE did what they were passionate about. Where EVERYONE operated in their strengths…we’d have every area covered because each of us was created with individual passions, traits, strengths, and characteristics. If you don’t like people for instance, you probably shouldn’t work in customer service. If you hate the smell of paint, you probably shouldn’t be a painter. If you pass out at the site of blood, you probably shouldn’t be an EMT. Makes sense, right? But somehow we were told we have to do what everyone else does, the way everyone else does it, in order to be successful. So…we settle. Well…I won’t. I’m breaking through the societal norm and I want to encourage you to do the same. For those who have a similar calling on their hearts, I want to take you with me.

How many of you have started to believe the lies you’ve been told about your potential? It’s super challenging sometimes to break through those voices. These are some of the things I’ve been told that I REFUSE to accept…

You can’t truly have your body back after you have a baby. Everything gets stretched out and you’ll never be the same.

You can’t REALLY make a substantial income from home. That’s something that exists in fantasy land.

It’s not possible to do what you truly love AND get paid good money for it.

You’re a grown up now…you can’t expect to find a job where you get more than 2 weeks of vacation each year. You should be happy with what they give you.

As you get older, you’ll see…you can’t be that healthy for long.

Everybody is going to get a disease at some point in their life these days.

You’re dreaming if you think you can actually be super successful working on your own schedule, helping other people, and make 6-7 figures/year. That’s not reality…what a waste of time.

What would happen if I accepted these lies as truth? I’d still be packing around baby weight (Which I’ve not only lost all of, but 7 pounds more…), I’d be miserable in my current job without any hope of the future, my family wouldn’t have been blessed with the amazing additional income & free superfoods these past 6 months, my soul wouldn’t be ON FIRE to help others, AND most importantly…the large group of people I’ve been able to encourage and help in their journey to health & wellness…they’d still be sick, overweight, hopeless, yoyo dieting, with their health problems and NO HOPE for the future. Now, that just isn’t ok with me…so what I will say to all of the haters out there…

I will and I am.
Joining the Beachbody team has truly changed my life in the past 6 months. I am stronger inside and out than I have EVER been. Talk about a fast transformation! I have purpose and passion in my heart. The Secret Road Map to Success in Health & Fitness

What would happen if I gave you a map and detailed instructions for how to get to my house? You’d…. probably arrive at my house right? Pretty simple concept.

Why is it that we make reaching a place of health, strength, & vitality so dang complicated??? Frustrating isn’t it? What’s even more frustrating is that only a small percentage of people who set out to get themselves healthy, actually are successful. Why is that? Really think about it… Why have you not been successful in your past endeavors to lose weight, gain muscle, get healthy, or achieve that six pack you’ve been dreaming of?

It makes me so sad to see how many people are sick, tired, overweight, and struggling with preventable health ailments that they DON’T HAVE TO SUFFER WITH! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard the phrase, “But, Jessica, you don’t understand, I’ve tried EVERYTHING! Nothing works for me!”. First, I promise you, you have not tried everything. Second, if you’re going to use that as an excuse not to try again, you’re giving up and you really don’t want it bad enough.

It’s really not hard you guys. As I’m running these accountability groups, encouraging my amazing team to reach their goals no matter how unattainable they may seem, when they commit 100%, we have a 100% success rate. That means a 0% failure rate. We’re batting .1000. I’d say those are pretty dang good odds, wouldn’t you? Obviously something is working. Well, here it is… That secret you’ve been waiting for.

The secret is….

1. Intentional nutrition specific to your body type, your lifestyle, and your goals. (This is so much more than just “eating healthy” by the way).

2. Efficient workouts that go no more than 30-40 minutes/ day and get your heart pumping and muscles burning.

3. Maximizing your nutrient, probiotic, antioxidant, superfood intake in order to- rebuild muscle fibers, regulate hormones, improve your immune system, eliminate digestive complications, cleanse out the toxic sludge you’ve been carrying around, and make all bodily systems and organs run more efficiently.

4. The COMMITMENT to stick faithfully to your program.

5. The PATIENCE for the results to come as you continue to put in the effort.

Want to know where people usually mess up?? Usually it’s #5. We’ve had it so good in our country for so long, that we’ve become soft and we don’t know what it’s like anymore to work hard for something or to be patient for something good to come. Think about that… How many times have you given up on a good thing just because you lost interest or motivation? What if that was right before your big breakthrough or your next pound lost?

TRUTH- It doesn’t come to those who sit on their tush and wine and complain all the time about how life’s not fair or someone else is luckier, blah blah blah. If you want to be up on the elite, you have to work your booty off and be hell bent on making it happen, AND you have to be patient for your hard work to pay off! Last weekend at the Coach Summit conference, we had an amazing guest speaker, Gary Vaynerchuck, and he had a great point. Every single one of our top 10 elite coaches in the company started from the same place we all do. There is always someone who thinks they have the secret formula to get successful in 5 seconds instead of 5 years, but that is NEVER the case. It might take a year or two before your passion and efforts start paying off. What if you quit on day 363, when you were only 2 days away from landing the biggest deal of your life! In 5 weeks I’ve lost 8 lbs & earned $1,000

Today marks the end of week 5 and the beginning of week 6 in my 8-week Health & Fitness challenge, 22 Minute Hard Corps. As a whole, it’s been amazing! I started this program to help me lose the last bit of baby weight, and while I’ve already lost 8 lbs, what I’ve gained is even more exciting!

Especially when baby screams when I put him down right now most of the time. Week 5 of my 8 week challenge has by far been the hardest one for me yet!
Then Thursday happened… I jumped on a conference call on my way home from work (yes using speakerphone! Ha!) to listen to some tips from an amazing superstar diamond coach in the Beach Body organization, Kristina Delgado , and before my reception cut out again, I heard her say something that changed me.

It’s not about me.

These workouts I’m doing, the meal plans and shopping lists I’m writing down and figuring out, the late night calls, emails, coaching…all of this extra effort isn’t just for me, it’s for YOU!

I’m the Guinea pig to pave the way and SHOW you that it IS possible to live a healthy lifestyle as a full time working mom. THIS is why I got into the health industry, to HELP, ENCOURAGE, INSPIRE, MOTIVATE, HEAL those who feel sick, overweight, fatigued, lost…We are surrounded by sickness and disease. She defeated depression, anxiety, & obesity!

In 1995 as a junior in high school, I was diagnosed with depression.

From then on out, I was off and on anti-depressants. Every time I had a baby, post-partum depression would follow. Immediately, I would be put on meds yet again. After having my third child, I no longer only had post-partum, but severe anxiety attacks and many hospital visits.
