MY TOP TOOLS TO THRIVE THROUGH COVID QUARANTINE

Oh HEY friends!

It’s been a while since I’ve done a blog post. Life has been SO CRAZY over here. If you didn’t know…I’m 23 weeks pregnant with our baby GIRL!!!! I’ve been sleeping in my boy’s bed for the past couple weeks because my oldest, Logan, has tonsils the size of grapefruit (ok, not really, but they’re huge!) causing severe sleep apnea and obstructed breathing when he falls asleep and despite trying EVERYTHING to get them back to normal, they’re still huge. SO- He goes in for an urgent tonsillectomy in the midst of the COVID crisis on Wednesday this next week. I had to beg and plead and get it approved by the CMO of our local hospital. It’s been quite a difficult and stressful journey, but I’m so thankful next week my baby boy will get to breathe while sleeping….and I can get my pregnant belly back in my OWN bed to sleep- HALLELUJAH!

SO- as with many of you, we are living in high stress times with curve bals coming at us every day. We are also, as a culture starting to value our health a bit more, yet many find themselves in a panic of what to do without their gym, without produce lining the shelves, afraid to go to the store, and no idea what vitamins to get to boost their body’s protection against any viruses that may come along.

Haha…literally for the past 15 years I’ve been researching and trial and erroring sooo many solutions that have come in CLUTCH for this time we’re living in today. Here are my top tips, tricks + tools for THRIVING through this difficult, unprecedented time. I taught a specific webinar last night to Multiple Sclerosis patients for an amazing clinic in southern California and I wanted to bring some of the tips I taught them to you guys as well as some additional supplement tips!

MENTAL HEALTH TIPS

    • Learn a new hobby

    • Have a personal limit with how much you listen to the news! Remember… the media’s main goal isn’t necessarily to give you the most accurate information from all sides all the time…I know, shocker for some of you. Their main goal is…well, drama and to get a reaction. Remember that. Maybe turn the news off for a bit and focus on what you CAN control.

PHYSICAL HEALTH TIPS

    • BASIC NUTRITION TIPS: Decrease inflammatory foods (sugar, processed foods, white flours, gluten, artificial anything), Increase nutrient dense foods (veggies, fruits, whole grains, organic meats, herbs).     • FRESH AIR + GROUNDING: I don’t care how crazy you think I am, getting fresh air every day and getting barefoot on the ground is a phenomenal practice for your overall health…so make it happen.

EMOTIONAL HEALTH TIPS

    1. Connect with someone daily: over the phone, facetime, zoom, FB Community
    2. Plan a future trip or positive event in the next 6 months to get excited about and work towards.
    3. Find support groups online! You’re not the only one going through what you’re going through. There are so many people you can connect with and reach out to.

SPIRITUAL HEALTH TIPS

    1. Everyone has a different way to connect with a power beyond themselves. This connects us to a hope for better days and a way to get through the hard days.
    2. Prayer, meditation, Bible study groups, prayer groups, etc.
